With February gone, spring is approaching and in a blink of an eye, summer will be here— and with it comes sun exposure, heat, travel, humidity, and environmental stressors that can either enhance your glow… or compromise your skin.
In aesthetic medicine, preparation and anticipation is everything. At RejuvFP, I don’t believe in last-minute fixes before a vacation. I believe in strategic skin preparation — strengthening the skin barrier, optimizing collagen, balancing pigmentation, and ensuring your skin is resilient enough to thrive during the summer months. That’s why my patients know me for advising them always “to put sunscreen on them until they look pale”.
Now it is the ideal time to prepare intelligently. That’s why, I have listed the core treatments I recommend for this season below.
Neuromodulators: Preventing Expression Lines from Deepening
Increased sun exposure leads to squinting — and repetitive movement deepens dynamic lines. So, if you have some wrinkles at the beginning of summer, certainly the Sun will contribute to deepen them considerably. That’s why, I always recommend strategic neuromodulator placement to my patients before summer. And when they ask me why, I always respond with the three bullet points below. It can:
- Prevent deepening of frown and forehead lines
- Reduce excessive muscle tension
- Maintain natural expression while preventing static wrinkles
The goal is not immobility. It is preservation. Subtle prevention now often reduces the need for heavier correction later.
Dermal Fillers: Structural Support for Natural Summer Radiance
A myth that my patients usually believe before our first consultation, is that dermal fillers are corrective. However, they are a very good asset when it comes to preparation of the skin for high-photo seasons like summer. Well-placed dermal fillers can restore structural support and enhance natural contours in the midface architecture, improve facial harmony, enhance lips subtly and reduce shadowing and tired appearance
However, this should be done before summer to avoid overcorrection during the high-heat season or afterwards. Prevention is always better than correction. Swelling and heat can exaggerate volume. Precision and restraint are essential.
Medical-Grade Skincare: Your Summer Armor
Most of my patients ask me often “Do I really have to use sun protection?” And the answer is always “yes, yes, and thousand times yes”. Sun protection is not cosmetic. It is medical. When it comes to high-photo seasons, sun protection is key and your best ally to protect your skin from sun damage. Patient education on SPF reapplication and antioxidant layering is often the difference between maintaining results and reversing them.
No aesthetic treatment can compensate for inadequate daily protection. Before summer, we reassess:
- Vitamin C for antioxidant defense
- Retinoid tolerance and timing adjustments
- Barrier-repair moisturizers
- Daily broad-spectrum SPF (non-negotiable)
- Pigment regulators for melasma-prone patients
My Philosophy: Prepare, Protect, Preserve
Summer skin is not achieved in July. It is prepared in advance. Over corrective treatments are not the solution to your skin problems, and besides they are more expensive than preparation treatments. At RejuvFP, my seasonal approach is centered on:
- Regeneration over aggression
- Barrier strength over excessive resurfacing
- Prevention over correction
- Natural results over trends
Whether you are preparing for travel, events, or simply want healthier skin under the sun, the right strategy now protects your results tomorrow. If you would like to schedule a personalized summer skin consultation, send us an email at: tatiana@rejufp.com.
